New Fairfield
Ever hear of New Fairfield, CT? It's a beautiful town with roughly 14,000 people. The biggest attraction of New Fairfield is certainly Candlewood Lake which just so happens to be the largest lake in Connecticut. This little town is one of the Northernmost towns in Fairfield County. The only town in Fairfield County more north than New Fairfield is Sherman. On the sides of "NF" as the local calls it are the towns of Danbury, Brookfield, New Milford, and Brewster, NY.
New Fairfield is definitely a lake town and a popular vacation spot for my Florida Residents. Many people spend their summers in New Fairfield, CT and their winters in Florida. The local attractions in the area are Candlewood Lake, Prime Time Fitness Gym, and the communities inside the New Fairfield Area. The 6 community sections in the local area are: Ball Pond, Candlewood Isle, Candlewood Knolls, Candlewood Shores, Knollcrest, and New Fairfield Center.
There are 4 lakes in this little lake town. The most obvious lake is Candlewood Lake which as I mentioned above is the largest lake in all of Connecticut. Squantz Pond is another popular waterfront for many residents of New Fairfield. Ball Pond is the 3rd spot lake front in the local area. Lastly Margerie Reservoir is the most seldom used body of water because it is a reservoir not a tourist destination.
Due to the demographics of New Fairfield you'll see a different type of activities in the town. The median income for a household in the local town is $106,145. That's one of the highest median incomes in the whole State of Connecticut. Thus you'll see many different personal training studios, yoga studios, bars, and upscale restaurants in the area.
The only zip code that New Fairfield uses is 06812! Danbury on the other hand was given additional zip codes in 1984. Unfortunately at that time no new zip codes were available for NF.

The best five restaurants in New Fairfield in order consist of:
- Portofino's! Portofino is a very nice pizza place located on Route 37. They are open for lunch & dinner and have very friendly staff. Pizza may not be the most healthy meal, but if you're looking to get a cheat day you'll definitely want to check out Portofino in New Fairfield.
- Biscotti's has a better rating than Portofino because it is upscale dining. If you're going to go for a drink in New Fairfield you'll want to definitely stop by Biscotti's. Biscotti's of New Fairfield is the best bar in the area. There is another bar called Icons that's giving old faithful a run for it's money.
- Olde 37 Patio & Grill is my favorite destination for grass-fed burgers. The importance of grass-fed meat is huge! I'm glad that NF has a Healthy Restaurant.
- Yummy Yummy is the only Chinese restaurant in town! Does that mean it's the best? Many NF residents think so, because they'd rather go to Yummy Yummy than Jeffery's which is right down the street in Danbury.
- Bruno's Pizzeria is another very good place to get a slice of pizza in New Fairfield. The staff here are super friendly and the prices aren't too high.
