The Ketogenic Diet!

What exactly is the Ketogenic Diet?  In a nutshell this diet is FAT HEAVY, medium protein and very LOW CARB.  Sounds like Atkins right?  Isn't this just a Paleo diet?  Wrong, the Ketogenic Diet is a whole different animal.  You're eating 80% Fat, 15% protein, and 5% carbohydrates.  

This new "Keto" Lifestyle puts your body into Ketosis which means your primary fuel source is your fat instead of sugar or carbs.  Ketosis has numerous benefits including:
  • Rapid loss of body fat
  • Lean muscle gains
  • Balanced hormones
  • Stable energy levels
  • Skin & Hair improvements

The Ketogenic Diet is great, but like any new diet people always have a very hard time with the first month.  Little do you know, but that's a good thing because it means your body is trying to switch it's fuel source from carbohydrates to fat.  It usually takes about 30-60 days of strictly eating a Ketogenic diet to make that switch.

My Thoughts on Supplementing with Keto/OS
I've never been a big fan of supplementing for anything until recently.  My wife always struggles with her weight and doesn't appreciate my recommendations.  I would say she is my worst client!

​One of my trainers, Dawn had lost a ton of weight combining the Ketogenic Diet with therapeutic ketones.  She told my wife about it which led to 12 pounds of weight loss just in the first month.  

I was shocked.  I tried it myself and it gave me huge amounts of energy.  I now take it regularly for energy, because I'm always on the go.  I had another client lose a decent chunk of weight by supplementing with it as well.  

It definitely works.  I can feel the difference.  

It's definitely on the expensive side.  Their marketing strategy is to have flash sales which usually happen on the weekends or to push their customers to autoshipping.

A few tips if you're thinking about trying Keto/OS
  • Do your own research
  • Only buy bulk when there is a weekend sale
  • Sign up for autoshipping otherwise
  • Try a week's supply for $30 first
  • Take half a packet at a time to start
